It is important for people that are at risk to know the most common diabetes symptoms and what to do if they should arise. The reason that so many people do not know that they may have diabetes is because some people show no diabetes symptoms. Therefore, it is very important to have blood work checked every year after the age of 45. Treatments of Diabetes |

Before the discovery of insulin in 1921, everyone with type 1 diabetes died within a few years after diagnosis. Although insulin is not considered a cure, its discovery was the first major breakthrough in diabetes treatment. Today, healthy eating, physical activity, and insulin via injection or an insulin pump are the basic therapies for type 1 diabetes. The amount of insulin must be balanced with food intake and daily activities. Blood glucose levels must be closely monitored through frequent blood glucose checking. Healthy eating, physical activity, and blood glucose testing are the basic management tools for type 2 diabetes. In addition, many people with type 2 diabetes require oral... |

Diabetes Milletus - Provoking Impotence in Men
Author:
Jacob Samual
Diabetes Milletus, a condition in which the body cannot convert food into energy because of a lack of insulin (a hormone produced by the pancreas), or because of an inability to use insulin. Diabetes is a serious condition that may cause complications. It also significantly raises the risk for other problems, such as stroke and heart disease. About 17 million Americans have diabetes.
Diabetes is a serious threat to men's health, it is closely related to erectile dysfunction. If you are a diabetic sufferer, be aware. About 50% of men with diabetes have ED because diabetes affects the small vessels of the penis and may also affect its endothelial cells, resulting in reduced levels of nitric oxide.
Patients with chronic diseases may have ED that is multifactorial in etiology. Such patients may have vascular insufficiency, low levels of free testosterone, autonomic and sensory neuropathy, and psychological stress. They may also be taking medications that can reduce potency like Cialis.
Diabetes can occur in anyone. The risk of developing diabetes also increases as people grow older. People who are over 40 and overweight are more likely to develop diabetes, although the incidence of type 2 diabetes in adolescents is growing.
There are two major types of diabetes.
Type 1 (juvenile) - diabetes, the body completely stops producing any insulin, a hormone that enables the body to use glucose found in foods for energy. People with type 1 diabetes must take daily insulin injections to survive.
Type 2 (adult) diabetes results when the body doesn't produce enough insulin and/or is unable to use insulin properly (insulin resistance). This form of diabetes usually occurs in people who are over 40, overweight, and have a family history of diabetes, although it is increasingly occurring in younger people, particularly adolescents.
A lot of research is going on for the cure both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, especially type 1. There have been several approaches to cure this disorder which includes- Pancreas transplantation, Islet cell transplantation, artificial pancreas development and Genetic manipulation. Each of these face a hell lot of challenges such as preventing immune rejection; finding an adequate number of insulin cells; keeping cells alive; and others. But progress is being made in all areas.

There are three different types of diabetes and each category has its own problems and symptoms that are specific to it. The first of these types of diabetes is Type 1, also known as "insulin dependent". This type of diabetes is called Juvenile diabetes because it manifests anytime in the first 30 years of someone's life. This type of diabetes needs to be controlled with the use of insulin, which must be given one or more times each day. Someone that has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes will have to maintain a strict diet of what they eat and they'll have to monitor their blood levels several times each day so that they know exactly where their blood sugar level is at. If these blood sugar levels aren't carefully monitored and managed kidney damage can occur. Symptoms of Type 1 diabetes include thirst, an increase in urination, urine that seems to have a dark color to it, vision that is blurred, tingling in the feet and hands, and sudden loss of weight. The second kind of diabetes is Type 2, also known as "non-insulin" diabetes. This type of diabetes will usually occur in the later years of someone's life. The cause is often poor health and poor nutrition. In most cases this type of diabetes doesn't require the use of insulin.
